ご挨拶
当社は、約120年前に加島来三が西陣織の手織り職人としてスタートしたのが始りです。
来三は、８人の子宝にめぐまれ、来三の妻、さくらは、すべての子供達を西陣織の職人として育て上げました。
そのため、昭和42年西陣織500年の記念式典第１回錦裳会の席上初代来三の妻さくは、西陣の母として表彰を受けました。
二代目加島治助は、15歳で家業を継承、昭和39年加島織物を設立しました。
昭和47年加島龍二が家業を継承、現在は、加島光義が四代目を継承致したおります。
加島織物は、独自の意匠を制作西陣織業界の発展のために寄与して参りました。
日本の高級織物ー西陣織物の名に恥じない作品作りに励んで参りたいと思います。

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are very pleased to inform you about the the history of Kashima Nishijin Textile.More than 120 years ago. Mr. Raizo kashima started to try to manufacture the Nishijin weaving textile by hand.
Raizo was blessed with 8 children.All children fortunately succeeded to the family business.So.Saku. Raizo's wife got the prize called ” Nishijin no Haha” (Nishijin's Mother) when the 1st Nishijin special 500th anniversary ceremony (The Kinsho kai) was held.
Jisuke Kashima. 2nd generation succeeded to the family business when he was 15 years old.Then, he founded Kashima Nishijin Textile in 1954.
Hereafter. Ryuji, 3rd generation succeeded. until 2017. Mitsugi Kashima now became a President of Kashima Nishijin Textile.
Our purpose of weaving textile is to manufacture and conserve the high quality Nishijin textile since establishement of our weaving studio.

西陣織の歴史
西陣織は、平安時代宮廷官人専門の織物を制作するー織部の司ーが起源とされています。そのため、西陣織は日本の高級織物の総称となっています。
西陣の名前は、応仁の乱(1467～77)の際に山名宗全が西陣の地に陣をはっ事に由来しています。江戸時代も西陣織の生産集団は、幕府からの手厚い保護を受け高品質の織物を製造することが、出来ました。
東京に都が、移ったあと一時期衰退した時期もありましたが、西欧からジャガード織機をいち早く導入、近代化に成功、今は、経済産業大臣指定の伝統的工芸品に指定されています。
主な製品は、帯、着尺地、各種服飾品、室内装飾品などが有ります。主に絹織物ですが、毛、木綿、合成繊維も有ります。
The history of Ｎishijin weaving textile (Ｎishijin ori ) was started during Heian period ( 794 ～ 1192 ) .
The master of artisans was weaving special textile only for the ariscrats at the office called ”Oribe no Tsukasa” ( in the Imperial Palace ) .
Therefore.Ｎishijin weaving textile has been recognized as the highest quality of weaving textile in Japan.
When we experienced the biggest local war called ” Ohonin no Ran (1467～77) in Kyoto. most master of artisans moved to another places to conserve to manufacture the sophysticatedＮishijin Textile.
After the war.they came back to start weaving work at Ｎishijin in kyoto again.
So,Shogun supported and gave the privilege to manufacture the high quality of Ｎishijin Textile during Edo period.
Ｎowadays.we could enjoy the Ｎishijin art works.e.g..Kimono belt.kimono bag.men's tie.interior decoration and tablewere collection.
If you want to, it is possible to see the pure silk Nishijin textile by hand as well as loom.
